Barry Gibb and Linda Gray: A Timeless Love Story

Barry Gibb and his wife Linda Gray have shared one of the longest and most loving marriages in showbiz—spanning over five decades. Their enduring bond has made them a shining example of what lasting love looks like.

Linda, a former Miss Edinburgh crowned in 1967, met Barry that same year. The connection was instant. Barry later recalled how he fell in love the moment they saw each other. Just three years later, on September 1, 1970, they were married at Caxton Hall in London—and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Their relationship has weathered both personal and public challenges, yet their love has never wavered. Barry has often credited Linda as his muse, even dedicating songs like “Words” and “Let There Be Love” to her.

In a 2017 interview on Piers Morgan: Life Stories, Barry opened up about their connection. He said the secret to their long-lasting marriage is simple: laughter. “We tend to laugh a lot at everything around us more than we could find anything to be unhappy about.”

He recounted their first meeting on the set of Top of the Pops, where Linda was hosting and the Bee Gees had just hit number one with “Massachusetts.” Barry spotted her across the room, and the chemistry was instant. “Something happened,” he recalled. “I thought, ‘That’s the woman I’m going to spend my life with.’”

Speaking about Linda, Barry was full of affection: “She’s a very, very special person. She’s full of love, full of fun, and has a great sense of humor.”

Even their son Ashley shared the same sentiment, saying on Life Stories, “They still love each other today just like they did then.”

Through immense personal loss—including the heartbreaking deaths of Barry’s brothers Maurice, Robin, and Andy—Linda has been his unwavering support. Their love story is more than romantic; it’s a testament to partnership, resilience, and deep affection that has stood the test of time.
