The Oak Ridge Boys Officially Announce Farewell Tour After 50 Years on the Road
After more than half a century of captivating audiences with heartfelt country harmonies, the legendary group The Oak Ridge Boys has officially announced their farewell tour, titled “American Made: Farewell Tour.”
Appearing in a recent interview, longtime members William Lee Golden and Richard Sterban shared that this upcoming tour will be a chance to thank their fans — those who have supported them through every chapter of their journey. “We’ll be performing some of our most requested songs over the years as a heartfelt thank you to everyone,” they said.
A Legacy of Music and Milestones
From their early days to their iconic rise, The Oak Ridge Boys have left a lasting impact on country music with their signature harmonies and down-to-earth spirit. Their accolades include induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, becoming members of the Grand Ole Opry, and performing for multiple U.S. Presidents.
“We’re incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to do what we love for so many years — singing and connecting with our fans,” Richard shared emotionally. “This farewell tour is going to be very meaningful for us.”
A Final Christmas Season on Their Own Stage
In addition to the farewell tour, the group continues its annual Christmas show tradition — now in its 34th year. This year is particularly special, as it will be their first full concert at the historic Ryman Auditorium.
The show will have a cozy, living-room-style setting complete with a fireplace and rocking chairs. Each member will take turns sharing childhood memories and performing their favorite holiday songs. Of course, Santa Claus will also make an appearance, interacting with the children in the audience — a beloved part of the family-friendly show.
Farewell, But Not Goodbye
Though the members are now older, their passion for music and performing remains unchanged. “We still look forward to stepping on that stage every night,” they said. “That hasn’t changed in all these years.”
The Oak Ridge Boys plan to revisit many of the cities where they’ve built strong fanbases over the decades, making sure to say a proper goodbye. While this tour marks the closing of a remarkable chapter, their musical legacy will continue to resonate for generations to come.
