WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Priscilla Presley Breaks Her Silence — “Elvis Was the Love of My Life”

Introduction

LOS ANGELES, CA — In a rare and deeply emotional interview, Priscilla Presley has opened her heart about love, loss, and the haunting memories that still shape her world. Speaking with quiet grace yet visible pain, the former wife of Elvis Presley reflected on her life in the shadow of a legend — and the unbearable grief of losing her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, in 2023.

“I wasn’t really ready to write this book,” Priscilla confessed, her eyes glistening. “But as I got older, I realized I needed to do it — for myself, for my truth.”

Her upcoming memoir promises revelations never told before — not through gossip columns or fan fantasies, but from her own voice. For decades, her story has been told by others. Now, she’s reclaiming it.

“There’s so much out there about me, about Elvis, about us,” she said firmly. “But this… this is the truth. This is my life.”

Writing the book, however, forced her to relive the most painful chapters. “It wasn’t easy,” she admitted. “You think you can handle it — until you actually start.”

At the center of her truth remains one unshakable constant: Elvis Presley himself. Even after their 1973 divorce, Priscilla says their bond never faded.

“Elvis was the love of my life,” she declared softly, her voice breaking for a moment. “He was a beautiful human being. I still love him deeply. I didn’t leave because I stopped loving him — I just couldn’t live that life anymore.”

Behind the glittering stage persona, Priscilla paints a portrait of a man far more spiritual and complex. “He was drawn to religion,” she said. “He’d read the Bible out loud, talk about the soul, about purpose. And that laugh of his — it filled the whole room.”

Even today, she swears his presence lingers in Graceland, their once-shared home. “Every time I walk through the front door,” she smiled faintly, “I can almost hear him say, ‘Cilla, is that you?’”

But that spiritual connection has been tested by unimaginable tragedy. In January 2023, while finishing her memoir, Priscilla received the call that would change her life forever: her daughter, Lisa Marie, was gone.

“It was from Danny, her ex-husband,” she recalled, her voice trembling. “My life stopped. I couldn’t believe the words.”

Lisa Marie’s death — later confirmed to be caused by complications from a bowel obstruction — shattered the Presley family once again. “It’s the hardest thing a mother can face,” Priscilla said, tears forming. “You can’t take the pain away. You just learn to live with it.”

Since then, Priscilla has clung to the only things that still ground her: her family, her work, and the legacy of Elvis. She found new purpose through acting — starring in Dallas and the hit comedy series The Naked Gun, which she calls “some of the happiest years of my life.”

“I wasn’t a comedian,” she once told director David Zucker with a laugh. “But he said, ‘We don’t want a comedian — just you.’ And that changed everything.”

Now, as the matriarch of the Presley dynasty, she devotes her time to her grandchildren and to keeping Elvis and Lisa Marie’s spirits alive. “I have to live,” she said with resolve. “I have a son, I have grandchildren. I want to be here for them.”

For Priscilla, the past is eternal — but the future is hers to protect.
